The demand for powder free gloves startedwhen the latex protein allergy issue was raised in the United States in the early 90's. USA being the largest consumer of latex gloves was in the forefront to promote powder free gloves which had to go through a process of chlorination in order to remove the harmful protein present in the gloves made from natural rubber. The chlorination industry started from these bsmall issues and has seen tremendous growth in the last 2 years as the the market for powder free gloves has grown steadily. It is also foreseen that in the furure powder free gloves usage would be made mandatory amongst all healthcare workers in the USA.
